WorkshopFolio was built by Bernie King, a wildlife and landscape photographer based in Massillon, Ohio, and the founder of Wild Roads Photography — a photography workshop and location intelligence business.

The problem was simple: taking bookings and payments for a photography workshop involved duct-taping together a Google Form, Venmo, a spreadsheet, and a lot of manual follow-up emails. Every existing tool was either overkill (Mindbody, priced for studio chains) or the wrong shape (Eventbrite for events, Calendly for 1:1 appointments).

WorkshopFolio started as a tool for Wild Roads Photography. It's now a platform for any independent instructor who charges per seat — yoga teachers, ceramics instructors, music teachers, cooking class hosts, and more.

What we believe

Independent instructors shouldn't have to pay enterprise prices to take a booking. The tools exist to build something simple, modern, and fairly priced — and those tools should be available to a pottery teacher in Ohio just as much as to a fitness franchise in California.

We also believe in transparency: prices on the website, no commission on your bookings, no annual contract, no demo call required. You should be able to evaluate and try WorkshopFolio without a sales conversation.

Payments

WorkshopFolio uses Stripe Connect so your students' payments go directly into your own bank account at Stripe's standard rate. WorkshopFolio never touches or takes a cut of your revenue. This was a deliberate architectural decision from day one.
