How much does WorkshopFolio cost?
WorkshopFolio offers three plans. Starter is free to keep — you only pay $10 per session when you publish one, with no monthly fee and no credit card to start. Pro is $29/month and drops the per-session fee, adding full Insights & CRM analytics and bundle packages. Studio is $99/month and adds recurring class series & subscriptions, staff management, labor cost tracking, and removes "powered by WorkshopFolio" branding.
Is there a free plan?
Yes — the Starter plan is free to keep, with no time limit and no credit card required to start. You can build your studio, create workshops, take bookings, and process payments right away. You only pay $10 for each session you publish. Upgrade to Pro or Studio whenever you want to drop the per-session fee and unlock more.
Does WorkshopFolio take a cut of my bookings?
No. WorkshopFolio charges a flat subscription fee ($10/session on Starter, $29/month on Pro, $99/month on Studio). We never take a percentage of your booking revenue. Stripe charges their standard processing fee (typically 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction) which is separate from WorkshopFolio pricing.
How does WorkshopFolio compare to Mindbody in price?
Mindbody's entry plan starts at $159/month. WorkshopFolio Pro is $29/month — that's $1,560 less per year. WorkshopFolio is built specifically for independent instructors who don't need the complexity or cost of enterprise fitness software.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or cancellation fees. You can cancel your subscription at any time and your account remains active until the end of your billing period.
Payments
How do I get paid for my workshops?
WorkshopFolio uses Stripe Connect to process payments. When you sign up, you connect your Stripe account (or create one — it takes a few minutes). When a student books and pays, the money goes directly into your Stripe account. WorkshopFolio never holds your funds.
When do I receive payment from student bookings?
Payments are processed immediately when a student books. Stripe typically deposits funds to your bank account within 2 business days, depending on your Stripe payout schedule.
What payment methods can students use?
Students can pay with any major credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Payment is handled securely by Stripe — WorkshopFolio never stores card information.
Can I offer deposits or partial payments?
Yes. You can set a deposit amount per class — students pay the deposit at booking and you charge the balance closer to the class date. Full payment at booking is also supported.
Can I issue refunds?
Yes. You can issue full or partial refunds from your WorkshopFolio dashboard. Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear on the student's card within 5–10 business days.
Features
What types of classes and workshops does WorkshopFolio support?
WorkshopFolio works for any instructor who charges per seat — photography workshops, yoga classes, cooking classes, ceramics, art, music lessons, fitness classes, corporate training, tutoring, and more. If you teach it and charge for it, WorkshopFolio handles the booking and payment.
Can I run recurring classes with automatic billing?
Yes — recurring class series with automatic student billing is available on the Studio plan ($99/month). Students enroll once and are billed automatically on your chosen schedule. You can run weekly, biweekly, or monthly series.
Can I manage a waitlist?
Yes. When a class reaches its maximum enrollment, students can join a waitlist. When a spot opens, the first student on the waitlist is automatically notified and has 24 hours to claim the spot. Waitlist management is available on Pro and Studio plans.
Can I create promo or discount codes?
Yes. You can create percentage or fixed-amount discount codes with optional usage limits and expiry dates. You can also create partner codes to track referrals from local businesses and see how much commission you owe each partner.
Can I track the profitability of my workshops?
Yes — WorkshopFolio's expense tracking and profitability analytics let you enter your costs (mileage, lodging, materials, labor, venue rental, etc.) and see your true net profit per session. The break-even calculator shows how many students you need to cover your costs. Available on all paid plans.
Can multiple instructors use one account?
Yes — on the Studio plan you can add staff instructors to your account. Staff get a limited login to see their own teaching schedule. You manage their assignments and track labor costs internally without exposing financial data to staff.
Getting started
How long does it take to set up WorkshopFolio?
Most instructors are up and running in under 30 minutes. You create an account, connect your Stripe account, create your first workshop, and share your booking link. No technical skills required.
Do I need a website to use WorkshopFolio?
No. WorkshopFolio gives you a public booking page for each workshop that you can share directly — on Instagram, in emails, or anywhere your audience is. You don't need an existing website.
Do my students need to create an account to book?
No. Students book using their email address and receive a magic link to manage their bookings. No password required. This keeps the booking experience as frictionless as possible.
Can I use WorkshopFolio if I already have a Stripe account?
Yes. If you already have a Stripe account you can connect it to WorkshopFolio during setup. Your existing Stripe account, banking details, and transaction history stay exactly as they are.
Security & privacy
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. WorkshopFolio uses Stripe for all payment processing. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout — WorkshopFolio never sees or stores card numbers, CVCs, or banking details. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
What data does WorkshopFolio store about my students?
WorkshopFolio stores student names, email addresses, and booking history. We never store payment card data. Students can request deletion of their data at any time by contacting hello@workshopfolio.com.
